Well the Renn Faire was a blast again. It is an easier trip now that its in Tampa. Saturday I went for fun and was joined by Dave, Becky(scorny), Doug(the birthday boy), Ryan, Jenn, Mike Browning, Matt, Melissa, and their pleasant daughter Michaela. Also we ran into Jason(the Saice) and his group. The attempt was to keep us all relativly together but that fell apart right after we entered the park. Jason's group went right, we kinda went left. We both kept expecting to run into one another but we never did..:(
But the important thing is FUN was had by all. I got a hair wrap, and was ragged on for it. But it let me hang skulls and black and red beads from my hair(very pirate-y). Scorny got a new outfit, and we all tried unsuccessfully to get dave into some garb/armor/something!!!
There was a very nice pirate coat that I was admiring but the price tag of 400 dollars was a bit steeper then I think I can really justify paying. Even though they were going to make me a whole new coat with the colors of my choosing and sized to fit me. I just don't think I can do it. But their are many more weeks left in the festival maybe I will see if I can work out a deal. Sadly the woman would not allow any photos..:(
The chess match was entertaining enough, even though we ended up on the french side..:P
My Soccer team Lost saturday night 7-3 the game was much closer then the score reflects. My guys were actually up till about 5 minutes into the second half. Then their keeper went nuts. He was impossible to score on. If you have never seen it Indoor soccer is a lot like hockey. And a good keeper having a good half is wicked. I was trying out a new keeper who did well but needs to relax more. My team as a whole has never played indoor, but now we can get our grove on and relax more. I think we will do quite well.
Sunday I was back at the Renn faire, this time as a volunteer. They were quick at approving my garb, which was a relief (as a MOSI volunteer I have to have all my garb approved for wear). Then I was sent out to work the Seahorse Pub. It was a fine place, with a great crew. Our captain, the lady Cynthia was a good leader. We worked hard and made a few tips for MOSI(all tips made by MOSI volunteers are give to MOSI's special programming as a donation) which is fine I just wish they were more upfront with like a sign or something so that people would feel like they aren't giving the tip to the intended person. Some people took their tips back when they realize it wasn't going to us at the bar. Well the day rolled on and I muddled through it. Its fun to be "STAFF" at the Renn faire, even if I was just a lowly bar keep and not really apart of the whole faire. I gave people drinks and they were happy. I even got a picture with my Pub-mates and a really good Captain Jack Sparrow and his Quartermaster. Photo's will be up soon..:)
